A Capitol Idea

H. P. Lovecraft on Washington, DC:

"But charm and personality it certainly does have; and these attributes grow on one powerfully during every minute of his sojourn, till he is finally won over as an ardent devotee.  One hates to leave the restful spot when one has not a New-England to return to."

(Letter to Lillian D. Clark, April 21, 1925.  Published in Lord of a Visible World: An Autobiography in Letters edited by S. T. Joshi and David E. Schultz. Ohio University Press, 2000)

The Washington Science Fiction Association has a fifty year history of hosting conventions.  Our organization, with able assistance from our friends from the Baltimore Science Fiction Society, shall be hosting the 29th Annual World Fantasy Convention in Washington, DC.

Our Convention Plans
We plan a two-track program, which will explore the darker side of fantasy, plus a track of readings and other small group activities.  Our program items will be designed to highlight the talents of our Guests of Honor and other program participants.

There will be an autograph reception on Friday night, as well as other special evening events.  The program will start off moderately on Thursday evening and conclude on Sunday before the start of the banquet.

Naturally, we will call upon the aid of many talented people to help us present a first-class Art Show and Book Dealers' Room.  Our Hospitality Suite shall be a reflection of the many memorable Disclave DisCaves of the past.
